    May 3: Conscious Leadership

The volume of activity and change that pulses through our organizations and our days is high. The people in our organization can be the hardest part, or the best part of our jobs, depending on the leadership and communication style we bring into our organizations. Our chosen leadership and communication style can also have a direct correlation to our health and personal well-being. The management imperative, Conscious Leadership, is the most efficient way for an organization to improve, create sustainable success and contribute to the well-being of the team. Conscious leaders are shifting from unconscious attitudes, behaviors and reactions to conscious attitudes, behaviors and reactions. We can break old patterns and build new ones. Join us to learn techniques and practices that will support you in making the shift to a new way of leading and living.

Speaker:  Tara E. Bishop, CAE, serves at the Deputy Chief Executive for the National Council of University Research Administrators. Tara is an association leader with an extensive history of building benefits that members value, driving growth initiatives that work, developing programs that inspire, and delivering communications that break through. Tara is frequently sought to orchestrate solutions to complex issues both internally and throughout member base.

Tara is also a Chopra Center certified instructor in Yoga, Meditation, Ayurveda, and Wellness. She is currently a student at Sun & Moon Studio in Arlington, VA working towards her RYT 500-hour Yoga certification and is a volunteer teacher on Friday nights teaching a Hybrid Yin and Flow by Candlelight Yoga Class at Sun & Moon.

Tara is incredible grateful for her amazing career at NCURA, for her journey into wellbeing, and the opportunities to share what she has learned with the communities she serves. Tara lives in Washington, DC, with her amazing husband John, her awesome son, John Robert, and two sweet and naughty Corgis, Espresso and Romeo.
